YURTA Association is a Spain-based non-profit organization, operating since 2012, specialized in mobile indigenous cultures and the High Asia region, and founded by the geographer, historian, applied anthropologist and visual artist Santiago J. Carralero.

YURTA has collaborated with FAO´s United Nations agency in the project World Yak Herders Association between 2016 and 2017, and is partner of its Pastoralism Knowledge Hub for the High Asia region.

YURTA currently collaborates with IFAD´s United Nations agency in the field of the yak fibre, and keeps in good relation for collaboration with other key organizations in Asia: Aga Khan Foundation, ICIMOD, both for the Central Asia and the Himalaya regions.
